HoliCow was well represented at the Libramont Fair 2024 🐮
The HoliCow team in Belgium participated in the 88th Foire de Libramont with a stand where people, and farmers in particular, could get information about the project.
We also organised a quiz for children and for all the people willing to test their knowledge about dairy farming. More than 130 people participated in this quiz, with an average result of 7.6/10! 👏
This insight into the knowledge of the broad public about dairy farming in Belgium will help us in targeting the topics we have to communicate about in order to educate and to raise awareness about livestock farming and the dairy sector. By way of thanks, participants could get a temporary tattoo with the HoliCow’s cow head, which was a real success!
These 4 days were a great opportunity to discuss and share both with farmers and the broad public, going towards our goal of reducing the gap between the citizens and the farmers.
We also took the opportunity to present dairy breeds to the families visiting the "Ferme Enchantée", a fun and educational area dedicated to children. While they were petting the cows, we were talking about milk (where it comes from, when a cow produces milk), feed (showing different types of feed), dairy products and transformation, milk recording and what it means for the farmers, etc.We also asked questions and gave the young public a chance to speak while testing their knowledge about the dairy sector.It was a very interesting way of interacting with the public, who learned a lot about these beautiful animals!
